Hey,
I'm Filipe.
I'm a 23 year old passionate photographer with the goal of taking my work to every corner of the world.
When I was 14 years old in high school, I first started studying in a science-related major, but quickly realized that wasn't the area I wanted to pursue in the future. So, around that time I started studying Photography by myself.
Once I was 17, I started high school again, but this time to study Audiovisual Communication, where the main focus was Photography.
Now I'm a college student at the Faculty of Design, Technology and Communication, mostly known as IADE, studying Photography and Visual Culture. I've also had the chance to study at Leeds Arts University and the University of West Attica.
During these years, I've had the opportunity of accomplishing several projects, being some of them with ILGA, the first Portuguese association for the protection of the LGBT+ community, as well as exhibiting my work several times.
I started volunteering for ILGA at the age of 19 years old and since then I've always aimed to do more for them and for the LGBT+ community itself. Besides this project, I've done some other works around the same matter, always giving voice to those who participated in them.
It's no secret that I'm passionate about defending my people and standing up for what I believe is right, using art as a means to achieve that goal.
I've fallen in love with photography for some time now and I hope you stick around to see what I'll be doing next!
